Bottle Bitches Podcast is About to POP!

WE (WILL SOON) HAVE A PODCAST

Get some fizz out of the fridge (might we suggest these?) and get ready to celebrate because a Bottle Bitches Podcast is in the works! (Bitchcast? Winecast? The name's still a work in progress. Hold tight.)

Starting in July, we'll be popping up in your podcast feed every week with an enthusiastic, informative, and maybe even a little bit funny episode about the wine we're drinking, the interesting people we're drinking it with, and the things that caught our attention in the wine industry at large.

Until we fill your ears (and hearts) with the sound of our beautiful banter, we thought we'd share some of our favourite podcasts with you. But remember, even if you get addicted to all of these, you still need to make room for our podcast in your life once it launches. Deal?

CARO: I need to start by saying that, although I do love listening to podcasts, I only binge-listen to them on road trips and haven’t managed to integrate them into my weekly routine yet. As a result, the podcasts I listen to are generally ones strongly recommended by Kate - ha!

  1. Invisibilia – This was my first entry into the wonderful world of podcasts (thanks Kate!) and one that still makes it on the road trip playlist as my partner Dan is still catching up with season 1. Invisibilia is about all those “invisible” things that compose humans and that often determine their behaviour, the way they adapt to a situation, or their conception of the world they live in. It covers and digs deep into fascinating topics by getting out there and meeting people, relating their story, and opening the listener’s mind to another invisible layer of the universe. Seriously awesome.

  2. My Dad Wrote a Porno – After months of hearing my friends in hysterics over that-thing-that-happened-to-Belinda-in-the-last-episode, I decided my road trip to France was the opportunity to catch up with what sounded like a ridiculously hilarious podcast. Let’s just say we didn’t listen to ANY MUSIC during the 3 hours drive to my mum’s and the 3 hours back, and that Dan’s now addicted to it.

ANGELA:

  1. Wine For Normal People – I feel if I ever met Elizabeth Schneider we’d become best friends instantly, sipping on Brunello and dorking out on the history of wine. This podcast is accessible, knowledgeable and fun and makes you feel like you know the hosts as they divulge their own recent drinking experiences.

  2. Casefile – In a previous lifetime, I was studying law and psychology with a view to become a criminologist, but wine got in the way and here I am today. But I still have a fascination into the world of true crime and this Australian podcast grips you like you’re turning the pages of a thriller in each episode. I listen to this when I'm travelling on long journeys spreading the wine love– except on the way home when it’s dark because I get the wiggins!

KATE: I listen to way too many podcasts and they're almost all out of America. 😬  If I'm cleaning the house, running errands, editing photos or chopping veg, chances are I'm listening to one of the following.

  1. If I want to feel like an informed citizen I listen to the Still ProcessingNPR Politics Podcast, The Daily, Call Your Girlfriend, or something from the BBC World Service (I especially like The Inquiry).
  2. If I want to get inspired by a rad interview I listen to A Few Things with Claire and Erica, WTF, How I Built This, or Another Round
  3. If I want to laugh or cry (or both!) I listen to Who? WeeklyMDWAP, The Guilty Feminist, or Terrible, Thanks for Asking.
  4. Aaaaand I just started listening to It's Been a Minute with Sam Sanders. Shoutout to my friends Brent and Sam for killing it in the first two episodes!

We'll be back to reviewing wines next Tuesday, but until then we encourage you to pop in some earbuds and give something new a listen! ✌🏽
